Smooth Operator for the HUB

What does the job entail?

Supervising and supporting the health, well-being and productivity of the teachers, students and all the life at the Hub

Welcoming clients (parents, students) and others into the space

Answering the telephone and providing information

Helping set up tutoring rooms

Give tours of the school

Keeping the Hub clean, organized and user-friendly

Work with the two directors to solve problems, create easier or more efficient methods for managing the space implement new ideas with clients, tutors, or other staff email communications to clients, tutors

Explain and support clients with the online scheduling and payment system

Process payments from clients

We are looking for people who have:

Math and Science Tutors

BrainBoost Tutoring Ltd. is looking for tutors to implement our progressive, holistic approach with students from grade 2 - 12. BrainBoost operates out of the HUB (3355- West Broadway – Blenhiem and West Broadway). Right now we need tutors for high school math and science, including biology, physics and chemistry.

What does the job entail?

Working one on one with the students – 10 hours a week or more to suit your schedule
Creating, preparing and reflecting on your tutoring experiences
Being self-critical and driven to improve and learn

We are looking for people who:

A love of math and/or science
An engaging presence
A positive energy and a desire to make a meaningful difference in the life of child or teen
Experience working or tutoring with children
Curiosity about the world

What do we offer?

Training in educational psychology and practices
Support as you apply principals in your work with students
New ideas and the latest technology
$18.00 – 28.00 per hour – depending on experience

Elementary Tutors

BrainBoost Education is hiring tutors to implement our progressive, holistic educational approach for students through grades K - 7. We are currently hiring for September 2009 and we need experienced tutors able to teach elementary math and language arts.

What does the job entail?

Working one on one with the students who are gifted and/or have learning challenges – 10 hours a week or more to suit your schedule – daytime, early evening, and week-end shifts are available
Creating engaging sessions, then reflecting on those sessions and/or supporting students with their school based curriculum.

We are looking for people who have:

experience teaching, working with, or tutoring children with various learning challenges
a love of math and/or reading and writing
an engaging presence and a positive energy with a desire to make a meaningful difference in the life of a child
general curiosity about the world
