Biology 12

Did you know that your nose can remember over 50,000 different smells?  Learn the ins & outs of the human body – literally – as we explore the major systems (Digestive, Circulatory, Respiratory, Nervous, Reproductive and Excretory) that drive the human being.  If you are thinking about going into a medical field, and becoming a Doctor, Veterinarian, Personal Trainer, or Nutritionist, this is definitely the class for you.  We’ll take field trips, watch great media, and dissect things as we dive deeper into what makes the body work.

Your Teacher – Rhonda Stone

BB_Staff_2017-20Rhonda knows how get you through the hard stuff – the hard sciences! She has thirteen years of teaching experience, including working with the West Vancouver School District, tutoring students with various learning difficulties. She specializes in Math and Biology 6-12, Chemistry 8-11, and Science 10.  Her educational background is a Bachelor in Science (Psychology) and she has completed comprehensive workshops in the Montessori educational approach. Rhonda is guided by the Montessori approach because she appreciates how it lets students explore their interests through hands-on learning. When she’s not busy blowing your mind, or blowing up things in chemistry, Rhonda enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter. The happiest you’ll find Rhonda is in the middle of a Venn diagram, between rollercoasters and the beach.
