Choose Your Own Adventure

Do you have a passion project, or a dream pod that’s not in our program this year? Fret not! Choose your own adventure and work with Peter to build your own pod, based on training that you wish to take locally, and at least one learning outcome from a Ministry approved course. This pod is an Independent Directed Study, and though you’ll be at the steering wheel,  experienced artist and educator Peter will guide you with a roadmap. You can for example create an outdoor education focus by combining other courses such as Wilderness First Aid, Swift Water Rescue, and C.O.R.E. hunter training to focus on the PE 12 learning outcome of safety in alternate physical environments. Or, dive deep into your obsession with bikes, movies, outer space or almost anything else, and gain credits while you do what you love.

Your Teacher – Peter Forde

peter forde portraitPeter aims to make the classroom his studio where creativity is the leader of learning. Coming from a world of traditional Ireland and teaching in the creative hub of London, England, Peter has developed a broad range of artistic experiences. He has exhibited in Ireland and England through painting, media arts, performance and theatre and sees himself as much of a teacher as an artist. Currently Peter prints at Malaspina studios in Granville Island and exhibits at galleries in Vancouver. Peter values the role of the teacher as the facilitator to the student’s creativity but draws from his technical and expressive experiences to bloom the student’s unique ability. The arts define our culture and our identity and at Brainboost we are delighted to celebrate these qualities. Expect the fun of the carnival, with the sincerity of gallery.
