Learning Lounge

Designed to help students transition from one-one-one sessions to independent learning, Learning Lounge teaches executive functioning and independence by giving students manageable responsibilities that increase with their growing abilities. Working with a 4-1 student-teacher ratio, students work to complete assignments from their tutoring sessions

Your Teachers Taylor & Nolan

taylor richardson portraitTaylor will show you why the pen is mightier than the sword! She has both a Bachelor of Arts from Simon Fraser University and an Associate of Arts Degree from Capilano University, where she focused on English and Creative Writing. Taylor found her passion for education while at Simon Fraser and since, has been working with students from all walks of life to gain more insight and knowledge. Aside from helping her friends, family, and classmates with their papers and studying, Taylor has been tutoring students with ADHD in a variety of subjects, focusing on organization and time management. The Writer’s Exchange is where she is able to let out all of her wacky energy volunteering with some fun kids doing fun stuff. At BrainBoost she tutors several subjects, including her specialty in English from K-12. She believes in creativity and the art of problem solving, and uses both of those in her practice to help students feel empowered and independent in their work. When she isn’t trying to find new and exciting ways to help her students, she is hiking with her Pug, Franklin, writing a novel, baking too many sweets, and teaching herself a new trade.
