Our Team: Support Staff

Melita was born and raised in the Philippines. She graduated from secretarial school before coming to Vancouver. She is well-organized and likes to be neat with all of her work. She enjoys movies, event planning, and arts and crafts. Most importantly, she loves spending time with her family and friends.

This is Fiona’s 4th year working at BrainBoost. She heads up the front desk team and looks after all things relating to customer service. Her job is to make things run smoothly whether it be scheduling tutoring sessions, providing information on what we offer, helping parents find information about the tutors - you name it, she knows it. When she is not at BrainBoost, she enjoys walking her dog, riding her bike, running in the woods, or cooking meals for family and friends.

Ivey grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana and arrived in Vancouver via Sweden where she lived and worked for two years. At BrainBoost, Ivey’s main job is as the Head of Student Services. Her job is to do whatever is needed to make each and every person who comes through the HUB feel welcome and have a rewarding BrainBoost experience. She graduated from Indiana University with a degree in History, Classical Studies (Latin), and an Individualized Major in Ethnic Conflict. Her studies and travels have shown her that the world is really a small place but filled with infinitely interesting and unique people. Ivey loves watching the students at BrainBoost become independent and learn new things about themselves and their abilities. When Ivey is not at BrainBoost she can be found running, learning to ski, cooking big meals for friends and family, reading about the world, and planning her next big trip somewhere.

Kevin was born in Calgary, Alberta. He graduated from Simon Fraser University with a degree in geography focusing on human geography and urban studies. At BrainBoost, Kevin works in Student Services ensuring that the students’ needs are met and hopefully surpassed. His goal is to inspire students to explore the value of education inside or outside the walls of a school, to learn as much as they can from their experiences, and for them to enjoy the process. In his spare time Kevin enjoys cycling, playing soccer, learning, and reading. He is passionate about education, community development, and the do it yourself movement.

Megan enjoys when things are organized, which is why she is one of our Smooth Operators! Megan is currently attending the University of British Columbia and is in her second year of the Bachelor of Arts program. She hopes to go into social work, potentially working in child protection. Megan enjoys reading, writing and traveling. She misses her hometown of Langley and spending time at the barn with her horses, but she’s excited to be part of the BrainBoost community.

Steph handles all the purchasing and accounting needs of the company, as well as acting as the Space Manager. In addition to that, she’s the mother of Matt and Jessy! When she isn’t helping BrainBoost, she is traveling to her favourite spot, Cortes Island, or exploring some new corner of the world. She loves her big family and especially enjoys it when everyone comes over for Sunday night dinners.
