Humanities Jr. and Sr.

Your Teachers:

Allie Entwistle – Humanities Jr.

Allie was born and raised in Kelowna, and has been working with youth for over a decade. Her first job was as a ski coach, and her favourite job was as a camp counsellor at a Boys and Girls Club summer camp in the Okanagan. She holds an honours degree in Linguistics from UBC (ask her about phonology!) where she worked with a team to help document a previously undocumented Tanzanian language. In Allie’s other life, she is an improviser and sketch comedian. She has taught improv to people of all ages and is the Artistic Director of Improv Camp – a summer camp for teens who love improv. She is excited to be bringing her love of improv and creative learning to Brainboost!

Nolan Sage – Humanities Sr.

Born and raised in the Lower Mainland, Nolan is a BC certified teacher, holding a degree in Psychology & Linguistics, as well as Education. At BrainBoost, Nolan tutors a variety of subjects from the elementary to secondary level, with a focus on math, biology and chemistry. Nolan teaches in a way that gives students the power to create their own learning moments and strives to foster confidence and critical thinking within a safe environment. When not tutoring, Nolan is often found with one or more cameras in hand, creating distinct portraits or filming comedy sketches. Nolan’s interests also include music (guitar, bass, ukulele), long-form improv, painting, printmaking and tacos.
